WELCOME TO ICAN
Welcome to the Indiana Collegiate Action Network (ICAN) Website, dedicated to helping those interested in collegiate health promotion and protection. ICAN targets issues that adversely impact students, mainly alcohol-, tobacco-, and violence-related. By joining with other leaders, ICAN hopes to increase the positive impact that Indiana can have on the collegiate population. There definitely is strength in numbers, so join us in protecting and promoting the health of Indianas future leaders.

On September 7, 2006 the Indiana Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking released the results of the first Indiana College Alcohol Use Survey.  This survey measured the attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, and behaviors of college students regarding alcohol and other drugs.  More than 7,600 students responded from 13 campuses, providing a comprehensive look at what is happening on campuses.  Click here to read the executive summary.

After the press conference, a training co-sponsored by ICRUD (www.icrud.org ) and INCSAPP, the Indiana Campus Sexual Assault Prevention Project ( http://www.purdue.edu/incsapp/) examined the link between high risk drinking and sexual assault.  Click on the titles to view the Core Institute power point presentations: Heavy Drinking in Indiana Colleges and Universities and Sexual Assault in Indiana Colleges and Universities.

Please browse our site, and find out how you can get involved. Please feel free to contact our steering committee, and share your ideas and resources to make the culture of Indianas campuses as healthy as possible.
